Also just a brief PSA - is your pet microchipped? With the holidays rapidly approaching, many of us will be travelling with or boarding our pets. This presents a lot of opportunity for our furkids to escape and lose their way home. A classic example of this is my fatty catty Carmen. When my former roommate moved out, Carmen vanished. She had been microchipped at the shelter from which I adopted her as a kitten. I called the microchip company, and placed them on notice. I also passed out flyers in a 2+ mile radius from my house. Nothing. I prayed that she was okay all the time and hoped for the best. My heart sank last winter when Atlanta got hit with a crippling snow and ice storm - I was snowed in for a week. How could Carmen survive. Well in May, I received a phone call from a local vet. Someone had brought her in and they scanned her chip! I picked up Carmen that day and she's fat and sassy and back to snuggling with her bubby Beanie and her new brother and sisters! If it hadn't been for her microchip, the people who found her would have never known that she was loved and missed. It's SO easy for an animal to slip their collar, don't leave this one to chance.

The girls love snuggling with their Beanie!
